BODYWORK BY CARA

BODYWORK BY CARABODYWORK BY CARABODYWORK BY CARA

What is Structural Energetic Therapy ®(set)?

Structural Energetic Therapy® is a form of advanced therapeutic massage  developed by Don McCan designed to reduce or eliminate your pain and optimize your performance. SET utilizes cranial/structural work, targeted myofascial soft tissue protocols, and specialized breath work to release stuck musculoskeletal energy.

What to Expect During a SET Treatment

A Structural Energetic Therapy (SET) session involves an initial postural analysis and consultation, followed by deep, targeted bodywork that combines cranial/structural work, myofascial release, deep-tissue and acupressure techniques to unwind deep-seated tension, address pain causes, and balance your entire body, often starting gently with the head and moving deeper, aiming for long-term alignment, increased flexibility, and pain relief.

After SET Treatments

After a Structural Energetic Therapy (SET) session, expect to feel lighter, more balanced, or sometimes perhaps side effects of detox. As your body integrates physical and energetic shifts,  common experiences can include muscle soreness, similar to a workout, or emotional releases.

Key aftercare involves significant hydration, rest, and gentle movement like walking, avoiding strenuous activity, and allowing time to process, as well as potentially noticing more supportive posture changes.

What is CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (CSt)?

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle, hands-on alternative therapy developed by Dr. John E. Upledger, focusing on the craniosacral system (brain, spinal cord membranes, and cerebrospinal fluid) to release deep tensions, relieve pain, improve function, and boost overall health by improving the central nervous system.

What to Expect During a CST Treatment

During a craniosacral therapy session, you will typically lie on a massage table while a practitioner uses gentle, light touch on your head, neck, and sacrum (lower back) to promote deep relaxation and release tension. You should expect to be fully clothed, and the session will start with a discussion about your health history and goals. While the therapy should not be painful, you may experience sensations like warmth, deep relaxation, or release of tension, and it may take multiple sessions to achieve desired results

After CST Treatments

After a CST session, expect to feel deeply relaxed, sometimes tired, or even "recalibrating" as your body integrates changes from released tensions and alignments; drink lots of water, avoid strenuous activity, and listen to your body's cues for a day or two as emotions or sensations might surface, supporting the healing process. Common immediate effects include sleepiness, mild soreness, emotional releases (like tears), or feeling lighter, with effects often unfolding over hours or days
